[IC] PCB mount Cherry MX Lock
« on: Thu, 27 August 2015, 21:03:48 »
Please fill out this Google Form if you are interested: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1CptTLP_GZxQ73w0_G614e3OBuF8yMC3nbuq1vRiC3Ug/viewform

These switches are MX Lock switches, a Cherry switch that locks upon press, and unlocks upon the second press. We are ordering MX1A-31NW, or PCB mount MX Lock switches. This group buy is limited to PCB mount switches only. I may do another plate mount GB in the future.

This group buy is limited to 80 switches, which is also the MOQ.

Everything will be shipped to me from the distributor, and I will ship everything out from my house in Southern California.

Shipping is $3.50 First Class or $5.50 Priority Mail in the US, $4 in Canada, and $6 anywhere else. Buyer covers PayPal fees plus a $2 GB fee.

Pricing is $5.90 a switch(pricing is higher this time because I forgot to factor in shipping from the distributor, I ended up eating $55 last time...)

No way. Damn, I didn't foresee THESE being available after buying in on the last batch. Well, I've got to consider some things then.

My supplier just told me that their stock of 80 is actually incorrect, and that they have none, so I don't have another source for these. They still have plate mounted switches however, so if there is enough interest (500 switches), then I will start the buy. You can still use the form in the op, I will edit it

Are the bottoms of these the same as the normal MX switch? So you could take it apart and put it into a bottom of the original MX switch so you dont have to de-solder the original switch?

Are these compatible with G80's?

In for two.

The pin mounts are exactly the same as an MX switch, however, there are some internal differences

So could I take the MX lock switch apart and put it into the switch bottom from the original switch?

AKA are the switch bottoms the same?

No, the MX Lock has some internal modifications so that it doesn't work with standard MX switch bottoms or tops
