Your Cherry G80-3000 is collection item now!

Cherry isn't making G80-3000 anymore. At least, they don't appear neither on their desktop page neither in their catalog:

http://www.cherrycorp.com/english/keyboards/Desktop/index.htm

(see link on the right for PDF catalog)

Most keyboards now will use linear switches, except maybe G80-11900.

Hmmm, the German site still lists them: http://www.cherry.de/english/products/office_business_G80-3000.htm

Wow, sigh of relief! ;-)

I have a real rarity: a G80-3000 with browns in the US.  Either that, or people just don't like them here.

HISS.  Very bad of you to try to shock me like this while I am trying to buy one.

Yeah I had a similar confusion before when looking at the American Cherry website. It sucks.

Use the main German site, it has much better info and lists all the products.

Hopefully the replacement will be a little less flimsy and not the size of a football field.  Or everyone can just get Filcos.

I think regular G80s haven't been on their US site for a while now... makes sense given that they're not made with a "real" US layout.
Hardware in signatures clutters Google search results. There should be a field in the profile for that (again).

This message was probably typed on a vintage G80-3000 with blues. Double-shots, baby. :D

I think I have my bases covered for now. I have two of them.

By the way, ignorance is bliss. Before getting my Filco, it was the quietest in my collection. It was the one my wife tolerated the most since she did not seem to notice them when I was typing in the room closest to room she would be in. However, after having used the Filco for a few days, and got back to my beloved Cherry with blue cherries, she does not notice them now. So, I'm currently back to my Filco with brown cherries. I like the brown cherries a lot, but not more than the blue cherries. Brown and blue  are completely different if you asked me. The difference does not stop at the click only. I'm still faster on my blue Cherries.
