Hello Guys,

Today i bought Cherry MY POS keyboard (78 keys array), which is sold under the name KB-78. Does anyone of you have a clue how to program this piece of dung? I didn't even get software within the package (and ones I found on web don't seem to play well on W7). Please if someone used it, help me cause i am about to throw it out the window :P

None of Cherry programming tools work on x64, so that may be your problem. Best to borrow an XP machine to program it. Sadly the same applies to 98% of commercial programmable keyboards. Only one I am aware of that has win x64 compatible programming software is genovation.

And i found some kind of driver in a page where i cannot assure yo it's free of viruses or malware, so use it under your own risk.

But as IvanIvanovich said, it probably won't work on any modern windows version

You might however use some program on windows, maybe autohotkey to program it via software.

And maybe theres some non official driver in linux to program those (i don't know really).

yeah, I also had problems with programmable Cherry keyboards that turned out to be NOS. Autohotkey is my best friend now. I talk to 'him' more than any other human!

i downloaded a cherry application from their website for my g80-8113LUVE-2 and it worked perfectly fine on x64 Windows 8. that app allowed me to program the entire board. plus it told me how many keystrokes the board has experienced. pretty cool.

I haven't looked for awhile. Good to know they are finally getting with it since XP will finally be reaching EOL soon and x64 is becoming dominant. I would still be surprised if they bother to update it for discontinued keyboard models though.

For anyone who will ever have the same issue as me:

Use HID MACROS :) http://www.hidmacros.eu/

Plugged my DELL AT101W through PS/2 -> USB adapter
Plugged KB-78 throgh PS/2 without my DELL attached through it's super-duper pass through function and it works like a charm :)

Another plus from this whole situation is that i now own ALPS compatibile set of relegendables xD fun fun fun :)
