So Ive had the keyboard for a few days and think Ive got a pretty good idea of what topre is along with the con and pro.
The keyboards Ive had so far are mostly Mx Red (MK50, K65, Shine 3). But the first and the one I had for the longest time is a Mx Black (6Gv2). Currently use a Mx Clear at work (G2Pro) that I trade my Ducky Mini that had Mx Brown. Also have loose switches so Ive tried all of them except some "legacy" and "clone" switches. Have also tried Razer/Kailh Green and Orange
(review found here) So far my favorite by far is Mx Red, I like it linear, light and silent
The keyboardNot in love with the case, its slightly slightly lager than my Shine 3 TKL. The back feet down have rubber under them so it sits far less solidly on the table (compared to Shine 3). Weight wise it seems like its fairly close to the Shine 3. Upper right corner is the logo, would personally placed it centered like Corsair or not have it all. Would also have liked to have the seam under it instead of on the side, but that is minor
The case itself on top is has light texture to it, looks really good
The Switch: Topre (45g)Its very different from any Cherry Mx switch Ive tried. Feels heavier than Mx Black with a super slight even bump around the activation point. The bump is nothing like the tactile of any Cherry Mx switch Ive tried, its more like a higher resistance than a click
Personally as someone who likes it light this is almost too heavy for me. Even using Mx Clear at work this feels really heavy
On the plus side it feels REALLY responsive and exact, with a activation point around halfway down before bottoming out.
The biggest plus must be how silent they are. Almost completely noiseless, thats the thing I like the most
The CapsSomehow I dont get the same high quality PBT feel as my Ducky sets. Even my thin blank white set feels like its higher quality. Still a mile away from all ABS and stock caps. Compared to my Deep Space set or Shine 3 stock caps its MUCH MUCH more comfortable to type on
The print is really dark on black so the print barley visible, really like that. I prefer engraved caps over printed and this seems like the perfect middle ground
The only real screw up is the ABS Space. I really dont understand how you can sell a PBT keyboard with a ABS space. Then when you look at the price tag around $291 its kinda mind blowing
The pics!
TL:DR /Conclusion 8 / 10Plus: Caps are nice, much better than any ABS set. Case has a nice texture. Very silent compared to Cherry Mx
Minus: ABS space, imo heavy resistance, price at $290 plus shipping, logo placement.
