Leopold FC750R for gaming
« on: Mon, 04 May 2015, 05:31:16 »
Hey guys!

I just signed up to geekhack to ask you some questions about the Leopold FC750R. I'm looking now quite a while for a mechanical keyboard (TKL) for gaming. While searching I found this (http://imgur.com/a/ixDhR#0). Its a link to an album of korean sc2 pros with their keyboards, mice and mousepads. I saw a lot of Leopold FC700R but not a single FC750R. Does someone of you guys know why there is no one using a FC750R model? As far as I understood it, the FC750R is the improved version of the FC700R. This makes me wondering even more.
Anybody here who owns both keyboards and can compare them? Or a Starcraft enthusiast who can tell me why there is no one using the FC750R?
I found a vendor who sells a Leopold FC750R with mx blue to europe. He said that he wont get any FC700R anymore.

Thank you for reading and answering!

Have a good day

Welcome to Geekhack!

Those pictures seem to be 2 years old, and a quick search suggests that the FC750R was released 1 year ago.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Hi,
Basically, i'm a starcraft 2 player and I also want to buy a Leopold FC750R.
Many of them are using a Leopold FC750R, not a FC700R.
The differences are small between them but the FC750R is better, you shouldn't hesitate because you saw they were using a FC700r

The fc750 is the new version of it, Its almost the same keyboard. I think the main difference is that the 750 comes with a built in dampening mat to make bottoming out a little quiter. I'd guess the reason why they don't use it is because they don't need to change keyboard everytime leopold releases a new TKL.
Or the guy who made the album doesn't know the exact model.
Uh, stuff.

750R also has thicker PBT caps, I think.

Yea, and normal spacebar stabilizer placement.

Why do you care what sponsored pros play with?

If that is what you want get a Razer.

The 750r is amazing. Best TKL I've used by far. Got it with MX reds.

I have fc750r with mx blue. I find the quality of the board case and keys excellent, and it's great for gaming.

I'm looking forward to try it out with incoming granite keys, but honestly I'm hesitant to remove the default side-printed PBT keys...

Hi guys!
So finally the keyboard arrived and I just love it!
@Dext: Sorry that I did not reply right away, I just wanted to make sure that it is a serious dealer.
https://www.facebook.com/MechanicalKeyboardsID this is his facebook page. The dealer is from indonesia and he is really kind!
He sent me a red esc keycap as present as well :)

So thanks for your help and have a great day!
