Best USB hub for implantation into Filco

I recently purchased a Filco zero (b-stock with xm switches) and have decided to make this a project board. First thing I did was take out those nasty xm switches... I'm a novice to mechanical keyboards, but those switches had some issues. I now have a filco tenkeyless with genuine white alps switches... (I love it).

At any rate, I would like to implant a usb hub into this board followed by some other modes that are as yet to be determined. I wanted to see if any other geeks have performed the same mod, and/or if there are any suggestions as to the best hub to use for this purpose.

So just a y-cable type connection inside will work fine if you just want to split out a port in the back.  Look at the pics of the internals of the Brown Cherry in the Mods section for whether you have room though.

No. A Hub has logic. Kind of like a Switch vs a Hub in Network terms if you are familiar.

I have yet to see a 4-1 Y cable for USB, and even if it exists, I can forsee horrible things like packet colission happening.

Just get a small hub and use the guts. use the single host cable from the pc, and plug the KB's cable into the hub.

I used a 2x2 hub (2 ports either side), and used the other port that is inaccessible from the outside for a stripped down 16GB pendrive. Instant storage. Admittedly though, it was on a M$ Rubberdome, and mainly to prove a point (I later sold it to the person who said it couldn't be done).
