Car-ready rugged construction... it would blow any fancy-ass infotainment screen right out of the water.

Have you removed the plastic sheet covering the keyswitches?

Obsolutely, it feels very strange with it on. I put 40a o-rings on the caps and its very quiet and pleasent to type on

Why would you do that?? Splashguard is best guard.

For some reason, some of these seem to come with a much nicer splash guard than others.

One kind looks kind of like rubber domes, but with neat circular openings at the top for the stems. The other kind looks like a sheet of plastic wrap with some holes messily punched through it. It'd be nice to know if there was some way to predict which one a given keyboard would have.

If I had a system like this, I'd have to put it in my car and drive around doing imitations of a police radio. I can't speak for everyone, but it's the kind of scenario I'm powerless to resist.

I think the holes are created by the user with a bit of use. After looking at my splash guard I can see little holes starting to form on some of the keys. But, it didn't take me long before I had to take the thing out which may explain why there are no "circular openings" that you noticed on some of the other keyboards.

I'm actually weighing in whether it would be feasible to replace the aftermarket radio with a computer paired with one of these keyboards!  :thumb:

I want this.  No use for it, but I want it.  Won't buy it.  Still want it though.

I think the difference might be if the keyboard is backlit or not. That's my guess, anyway.  :p
