Combination of Amazon Prime, ebay, preordering hardware, massdrop, and group buys results in this happening waaaaay too often.

I finally succumbed to using a package tracking app on my phone and paying close attention to my email to reduce this effect slightly.

I don't ever have bills in the mail come, and my post lady signs any packages for me, so I don't ever get the slip saying I need to sign and where it is from, so I like to look to make sure the package is for me, then don't look at the label. Sometimes even when I look at the label though I don't know what I ordered.

The closest I get to this is when my lazy postlady fails to write an initial on the "while you were out" card so I excitedly head to the post office to collect a pleasant surprise, but on inspection the unidentified package has never been for me :(

i got a slip explicitly for me, have to show my id etc.

so it should be for me. This has never happened before, i went through my history on pp, massdrop, gon and mail. Maybe something shipped without updating the status.

At least you get a package out of the deal  :)).  Annoys the crap out of me when I get a package from DHL and then weeks later BAM there's an invoice in my mailbox with fees.

Way too often.. the lady from the post office prolly thinks I'm running a drug ring or some **** when I'm getting packages 5-7 times a week.

I am usually really good about remembering what I ordered then today I got a package in the mail and was totally confused. I had no idea what it was. Opened it up and it is the two Teensy controllers I ordered yesterday. I can't believe they got here so quick!

All the time. The postal "service" over here doesn't post any info about the sender on the customs slip.

Never. Simply never.
Citizens United violates the essence of what made America a great country in its political system. Now it’s just an oligarchy, with unlimited political bribery being the essence of getting the nominations for president or to elect the president.
So now we’ve just seen a complete subversion of our political system as a payoff to major contributors, who want and expect and sometimes get favors for themselves after the election’s over.”

Once a week.  Too many small parts purchases from eBay.
Wish I had some gif or quote for this space, but I got nothing

Very rarely happens to me but today I received some car parts. Apparently we share the same address. I'm North, they are South. Oh and of course different zipcode. Post office error. Someone is coming to pick it up tomorrow.

It used to happen to me for about half the packages I received.  And half of those things I ordered I had completely forgotten about.

Now I have a system I wrote that helps me track things like this.

Sometimes I miss the unexpected surprises.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
