New guy waiting for first boards.
« on: Thu, 20 August 2015, 09:15:44 »
Hey all,
Been browsing /r/MK and lurking GH since the beginning of the year. Currently waiting on my first 2 boards I ordered through Massdrop. A black on black KC60 with MX Greens, and the current Planck drop with clears and a Deep Space set from the group buy left overs at PMK.

Looking forward to an empty wallet and lots of clacking.

Here's a pic of my current keyboard (cringeworthy) with my green WASD caps waiting for the KC60. That's also a custom made Star Wars sleeve in the back.

Seriously, can't wait.

Welcome to wallethack!

Nice choice on the 2 boards, and if you love Greens we're halfway to becoming a best friend already :D

Tell me more about that star wars sleeve

Had my significant other make me one in anticipation for the KC60. The dimensions aren't quite right (too long) but it has everything I wanted.

Velcro front pocket. (Cable is sticking out so you can see opening)

Velcro top.

Star Wars fleece lining.

I'm all about the Greens even though I haven't tried them. I did try Blues and really liked them but felt too light, so I think I made the right choice.

You would love greens, I find stock blues are too light too except if I swap the springs to 68g which is the perfect weight

so jelly with the sleeve :) you're lucky

Welcome to Geekhack!

That's a fantastic keyboard bag!

MX greens are one of my favourite switches, and my first board with MX clears is on it's way right now.  I prefer stiffer switches, including greens, blacks and buckling spring.

BTW don't let people tell you there's anything wrong with bottoming out on these switches - feels great :D
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
