Something has been bothering me for years now, and I have yet to find a resolution.
Way back in the day (I feel so old now), you used to be able to buy these packages of peanut butter bar mix in the grocery store.
They were near the brownie mix, and usually right next to those lemon bar mixes.
You'd take the mix, and a couple eggs I think, mix them all together, try not to eat the raw dough and get sick, spread it in a pan, bake it, spread on the chocolate frosting, and then burn your mouth eating it before it has a chance to cool.
I used to love them so much, and now I can't find them anywhere!
I've found recipes, but I'm afraid they won't be able to match the delicious taste of peanut butter, chocolate, and preservatives that made the originals so delicious.
Does anyone know why these are no longer sold?
I ask everyone I know/meet/pass in the parking lot/etc, but nobody can give me a satisfactory answer.
The closes I've found is this terrible, no-bake monstrosity that dares call itself Reese's.
