Buying a keyboard in S.Korea
« on: Wed, 07 October 2015, 10:34:54 »
Hey guys,

I've been hunting for a new keyboard and i just recently found out that a korean friend of mine is going to korea for 2 weeks (left today). Do you guys know if keyboards are cheaper there? If so, any places/sites that are recommended for purchasing them?

My friend is fluent in korean and a korean citizen so he can read/purchase as long as i just point to which one i want and let him know where to buy lol. However, he doesn't really know much about keyboards and is unable to inform me of any good places to purchase them.

Thanks

Well, there's the entire custom market down there, but that's kind of a tall order to get something done in two weeks. I know Torpe is both easier to find and cheaper, even though it's japanese. Other than that I don't know.

Thanks for the reply. When you say that topre is cheaper to get in korea, are you also referring to the HHKB2? I have been trying to find a place in korea that sells a HHKB2 but due to my inability to speak, read, write korean, I have been unable to do so. Do you know where i can purchase in person OR order from a website in korea?

HHKB2 is 385.84 CAD if you order from elitekeyboards...RIP.

I checked some online korean markets for you to see if they have any in stock, but it's either really expensive or sold out. I think if you're going to buy HHKB Pro 2, it would be much cheaper to buy through japan's amazon store and have it shipped to korea (since it's much closer and the majority of koreans get theirs through amazon jp as I've been reading in their blogs). The current price is 235.26 CAD.. not sure how much the shipping price would be but it shouldn't be too bad :thumb:
here's the link for the hhkb: http://www.amazon.co.jp/PFU-Keyboard-Professional2-USB%E3%82%AD%E3%83%BC%E3%83%9C%E3%83%BC%E3%83%89-PD-KB400W/dp/B000EXZ0V2/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1444437205&sr=8-3&keywords=hhkb
