Greetings!
« on: Wed, 14 October 2015, 09:57:02 »
I've been into mechs for a couple years now. I've had one board and only one board. I think I want to venture into getting a new one and trying different switches, so here I am! I was so fascinated by the HHKB that once I had it, I was done. And yes, it is true. You can never truly be done. I'm looking to also get my first artisians for Topre, but have had no luck so far. I'm mad I missed the most recent one! Anyways, see you all around!

My one and only at work.

Welcome, from one newbie to another.

That's a nice keyboard you've got there :D I've been thinking about trying Topre but I need to hold off a bit...

p.s. my very first artisans are on their way, and there's one in particular that would go great with your board  ;)

Welcome!

We have a very similar work setup, I have my Realforce at my desk, amiibo figurines and a Ollie (twitteriffic) figure, and 3 old Dell monitors :)

Are you thinking about going for a MX or Buckling Spring board, or getting more Topre?

Welcome to Geekhack!

First time I've seen that layout on an HHKB - looks good!  Makes me want a black one too, then I can swap some keycaps  around with my white one :))

Have patience with artisans.  Some people are lucky and get in on their first sale.  Other people take half a dozen sales or raffles before they are successful!

And if you mean the "no need to be upset" sale, I understand that was the first part of the sale, with more to come in the near future.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
