Would KMAC ever do another mini?
« on: Thu, 22 October 2015, 12:26:47 »
If enough interest was drummed up, do people think KMAC would do another mini, or are they focused enough on korean markets that they don't give a **** what geekhack thinks? Does KMAC ever do re-runs of keyboards at all?

IIRC Kmacs are no longer made as the group that made them before has broken up, someone said Duck was a part though.

I spoke with Kin and TrueCustom earlier in the year and they had mentioned that the group is no longer together. The owner of KBDMOD who used to sell them is no longer in the kb business.

Considered it. I kind of want to track down the OG board though, because that was like the first keyboard I ever wanted, so there's sentimental value. It's definitely one of my endgame boards.

On Korean keyboard forums NOTHING is permanent or produced all the time because then it would be another Filco, Leopold and Ducky Corporate Structure.

That is why when a unique Korean Custom is designed and made, it will always have a far limited appeal and access to even their own citizens let alone foreigners in other countries.  Plus Koreans are more isolated than the Japanese when it comes to keyboard adoration and support.

Suspect they love keeping the access down to a minimum, which helps keep certain models highly desirable due to their own rarity.

I think it's far more interesting to keep things fresh and do things one off anyway- it allows you to appreciate that you were part of the keyboard community at a certain point in time (or that you have craploads of money  :p)

Does anyone know the numbers on the Korean scene versus the American/Chinese/European etc? I'd find it really interesting to know. Must be a lot more simple logistically to organize group buys given how small SK is.

KMAC is not around any longer and you will have better luck looking in the classifieds.
