new dsa quartz
« on: Mon, 23 November 2015, 16:58:07 »
i just got my new dsa quartz set in the mail and swapped out the caps on my pok3r. jesus christ these caps were expensive. and while they do look good, i don't think dsa profile is my favorite. it's the furthest thing from ergonomic. i'm glad it came with fn and pn buttons, though, and roboto is my favorite font, so i can't complain too much - anybody else have thoughts on dsa profile and sp caps in general?
Let's get this straight. There is nothing cool about keyboards we're all lame as fk.

Wow, pretty expensive. I would only pay those prices for a GB set like Granite...

I liked it for a while for the "low-profile" look, but I am over it now. I prefer Cherry profile, looks better and feels better to type on IMO

i feel like a keyboard enthusiast isn't a keyboard enthusiast until he owns a set of dsa/sa caps along with oem and cherry haha

And has at least 2 spare keycap sets for each keyboard.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I Type on DSA 100% of the time and when i change to anything else it feels so weird. Trying OEM at home right now. Going to give it a while to see if I can get used to it or not. Maybe I just Love my Granite Set to much?

Order a JTK Coke Set, so I need to get used something similar to Cherry.

yeah i got used to my dsa set already after two days of using my pok3r equipped with dsa quartz exclusively for three days. oem/cherry profile are still best, but dsa isn't too terrible to use.
