I've poked around and haven't found any threads from anyone that's tried both the Tactile Pro (either 3 or 4) and the Quiet Pro keyboards -- is there a material difference between the two in terms of typing feel?
I've recently pulled a TP3 out of the closet; I've been typing on MX Clears both at work and home for the last few months, and I'm beginning to suspect that while I seem to love high actuation force switches (I also like MX Greens and, yes, buckling springs), they may not love me. Back when I was using this TP3 more regularly a year or two ago, I discovered it started to hurt my fingers a bit, too, in a way the buckling spring didn't -- but I've always suspected that's because I switched caps lock to be a control key, and the TP3 has a weird, stiff and non-tactile caps lock key that just isn't very good for that. I actually really like the keyboard feel otherwise, even though ironically, months with the clears have trained me to hit these keys a little too gently! (The secret of the clears seems to be to train yourself to depress them only to the actuation point.)
But man, this is a LOUD keyboard. Even compared to all the other ones I've used, this is loud. And not in a way that I really love. So I'm considering trying one of the Quiet Pro switches -- but I want to get some idea of how they compare to these beyond being, well, quieter. (I'm also strongly considering a variable weight Realforce once they finally get back into stock at Elite Keyboards but that'd be a different topic...)
