The SanDisk doesn't support hardware encryption, and it also carries only a 3-year warranty whereas the Evo has 10. The Ultra drives are cheaper but they are mostly made to rejuvenate old HDD-based computers and give them a few years of extra life.

The SanDisk doesn't support hardware encryption, and it also carries only a 3-year warranty whereas the Evo has 10. The Ultra drives are cheaper but they are mostly made to rejuvenate old HDD-based computers and give them a few years of extra life.

The Samsung 850 EVO does not carry a 10 year warranty, that is the 850 Pro. The 850 Evo series carries a 5 year warranty. And sure, it won't have as many features as some of the higher tier SSDs, but its a budget SSD for a reason. The Newegg price puts this at roughly $0.21/GB.
