Welcome to Geekhack!

Have you only go the Poseidon Z RGB and the Ducky Shine 4?

Which switches?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Woah a nice warm kitty welcome and I went all 2d and disappeared.
Always thought that getting emails about replies in forums should be opt-out :P

I have 3 mechs, a Ducky 4, and Z RGB in brown and blue.  I had an IBM (?) many moons ago, and it was very nice to type on, but I hated the click so I gave it to someone.

My cat is sniffing my lunch (eggs and grapes), wondering how we could be so dumb, pushing on that pastic thing all day, when there's delicious food to eat, and mice to chase.  That's only a cover tho.  When I'm out, he's on Match.com looking for hookups.

I was into gaming a while back, Warcraft I,II, Diablo II, Anarchy Online, all done on membrains.  I do type a lot, for work and play, as you can see, and I really like a keyboard that is easy to type on but not too easy...

I'm looking for the ultimate whisper quiet keyboard.  Mechanicals tend to be noiser, but I don't think it's because they are mechanical, it's more like people who are into mechanicals are not generally as concerned about the noise it makes?  So they were not designed with quiet in mind.

No click nor clack... only that other part, where it actuates, a muffled tap.... like.... (ckckckckck).

If you cross
"I'm bored' is a useless thing to say. You live in a great, big, vast world that you've seen none percent of."
With
"It's a small world, but I wouldn't want to paint it."

You might get CK Wright.... wrong?

For a quiet keyboard, you could look for a Type S Topre keyboard, like an HHKB.  Very quiet.

Or the Matias Quiet Pro is billed as "the world's quietest mechanical keyboard": http://matias.ca/quietpro/

Then there are things you can do to an existing keyboard to reduce the noise, like lubing the switches, and installing O-rings to dampen the bottom out sound.

Just got some superlube, going to dip the Z later.
"Thank the maker!  This oil bath is going to feel so good!"

Tried o rings on the ducky, it helped a lot, not sure why they don't include something like that in the design.

Right now I have the ducky's silicone cover on the Z.  It's not a very good fit on the bottom row, but good otherwise.  It makes it a lot quieter but a bit stiff, I'd like a thinner protective cover.
