Good Middle/Lower Printed Translucents?

Seems "traditional" LEDs are mounted on bottom side of switch?  How come two of my KB's have the LEDs mounted on top side?  This seems to jive with most keycaps where the characters seem to be printed on the upper side of the top (I assume to avoid wear).  I ordered a Varmilo and it came with LEDs on the bottom side and the glow doesn't really come through.

Any good translucents that print on the lower side of the top?  If I have to, guess I'll go ninja style printed on the fronts.  Options?

Check out Massdrop, they've got a drop for ninja-style backlit keycaps right now.  Not sure about the quality on them tho.
