Making this thread was a mistake. All these beautiful caps that exist! so silly of me to think just the two that I wanted are the only ones. On another not I think i found a toothy grumpkin, price was a little high, so might not go through with it. I wanna trade into these :/ but will i ever own a candy corn like that?

You will!

I would honestly keep trying to trade unless it's a really rare opportunity for a cap high on your personal wishlist. You're starting out wanting some of the rarest/most expensive caps so naturally so it's perfectly normal if it takes you a while to procure them. Plus getting new interesting caps, trading with people, seeing your caps being posted by them, is all part of the fun (a journey is more fun than the destination kinda thing?). I have purchased some caps for more than I wish to admit - but in the end all of my caps are on my display board as equals.

Stick around long enough and something will come your way. Heck people have even contacted me through PM after seeing a rather insignificant post saying that I wanted a specific cap.

But if you really want a cap. You really want it.  :)) And if you have the money in hand you'll get it.
This cheered me up

The pain of losing raffles and first come first serve sales is an important part of being an artisan collector. It sharpens the joy of acquisition.

How could I forget to mention this :P

The sales on this forum are the most fun you can have! but they can also be the least fun

With patience and if you make friends here you will get what you want ;) If you want a friendly advice, don't buy overpriced caps the satisfaction of hunting and trading and participating in sales will make you appreciate the caps more  :thumb: I've seen in the last years a couple of people with deep pockets who bought what they wanted at any cost, and in the end the price paid was to big... lost the sympathy of the wonderful people here and just disappeared. It's true they had a huge collection worth $$$$, but lost the real value of this ... A cap won in a sale or giveaway has more value than anything bough with $$$

As soon as I clear a bit the stuff going on in my life I plan on sharing here some of my luck and a Grumpkin might be part of that ;) So have patience my young padawan

So true. The anticipation of sales and closing trade deals is so much more fun than actually getting the "perfect" cap.

In 2016 I want to be more content with what I have.  Not doing well financially and I used to jump on every sale I was remotely interested in.  Those days are over, but I prefer to think I'm acting with more restraint than just being broke.

Also I want:
Peace on Earth
Clean water for everyone
End of sex trafficing

CC GH Tri Skull
CC Senzunite Raven
CC Senzunite Skull
Bro OG Reaper Brototype
Bro Solid Tritium BBv2
Bro Senzunite Keythulu
I'm back.

Gold False Idol, topre Mummy Is, RageRot, and the Freedom Eagle Clack.

The first and last won't happen but I can hope. Funny enough though the Clack is more likely than the KBK. :))
People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

The dumber the reason the more it must be done

That is not mandatory, in 2014 GON won, this year E3E. Any outstanding contribution is appreciated, it can be photography, innovation, project and it's not limited to DT members, that's what's so nice at DT Awards. It helps if you are a member because you get more exposure but considering that DT members are active also on other forums you won't get unnoticed ;)

I'm fairly new to the whole artisan thing so for 2016 i'd like at least one BroCap, a CC if the gods are with me (they probably wont cuz i'm a filthy heathen), and while we're at it: i'd also like to get my hands on a Binge. I've already won one cap from KeyKollectiv this year but i guess another one would be cool too and if Booper could start making Topre keycaps, that would be great too.

I just realized that i'm probably up for some disappointment in 2016   :-\

I snagged a grumpkin for a good deal, not that much more than retail! so happy! dint think it would happen so soon. However I seems to tight for the stem. I dont wanna break anything on the ducky. I will wait till the white fox gets here and ill experiment with an extra switch and some lube. Anytips?
Congrats, you wanted one really bad  :thumb: The tightness is solved really easy with a spare switch, just insert it gently a few times and problem is solved.

Don't give up :) You have joined a month ago, already have 2 cool artisans, it took me way longer to get my first Bro and CC and even longer to get the one CC I really wanted and loved. The first CC sale I made in was after 2 years, but getting a CC from the "Man" himself is really something worth waiting for.
Don't focus on this, enjoy the atmosphere here, make friends, learn about keyboards even build your own. Have fun! and nice things will happen. Don't throw away money, I ave tried to give you hints that you will get the grumpkin soon  as I am preparing a little something as a "thank you" for this great community.
It's worth more to invest time than money  :thumb:

I'm hoping one of the lovely new and up-and-coming cap makers will come up with some fun Alps and BS caps. And of course I'm hoping ClickClack will release some more BS Clacks.

My first goal is to get a keyboard with switches that I actually like.

My second one is to get keycaps that aren't stock. I've been working on some colors that I like:

I hope I didn't blow any of you away with my high hopes and expectations

Ooh both great choices! I'd love to get my hands on a Ribbit but they seem super hard to get.

Just really want to add to my small collection this year. Would love any one key from Binge, Bro, Booper, Retrochick, and maybe even Click Clack.  I would like to have a complete SnacKey set too (currently only have a Strawberry).  But if I could only pick one... it might have to be a Key-Wala.

A Fallout Yellow Skull would be great!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
