DC motor catalogs/specs/sources? Any robotics folks around here?
« on: Sat, 30 January 2016, 19:38:25 »
I didn't think this would be that hard, but Google is coming up dry. I need the smallest/cheapest DC motor that can output about 1.4Nm/12in*lb of torque at around 110-150 RPM. Better yet if it has an off-center shaft, as mounting space is pretty tight. I'm mostly finding tiny motors that can't get near that torque unless geared down to 20 RPM or monster washing machine motors. Can anyone point me at a supplier site or a catalog to browse for specs?

Even a hint of what to search on eBay would be great. For example, I can search "37mm 12 volt dc motor" and get a ton of options on small motors, but if I want something larger I'm kind of stuck because I have no idea what larger standard sizes these things are made in.

By no means am I into DC motors and those sort of electronics but look up and see what motors go into cordless drills.  I know Milwaukee and Dewalt drills can put out that kind of torque and rpm, bit that is with the gearbox in the unit.  Not sure if that is feasible but something to look into.
