What case fits this 1800 PCB?
« on: Sat, 06 February 2016, 19:14:46 »
I received this 1800 PCB today along with a TKL board that I have purchased. It was a very generous gift. I'm kind of dumbfounded as to what case would be compatible with this PCB. As you can see in the picture, the Mini USB port is in the center-rear of the PCB. I know that the TX1800 has a similar location for the port but I was wondering if any other boards has the same port so that I could buy it and toss in the PCB. :thumb:

It might fit standard cases, with routing the cable inside the case?

Yep you should have enough room in a regular 1800 case to route a cable inside the case.

Thank you very much, I was thinking of possibly grabbing a Dolch Pac or possibly a Goupil 1800 board.

Dolch! so we can be Dolch bro.... yeeeeee :)

remember, the dolch case has a very spacious extra room at the top. I plan to run a usb straight from the female plug to my pc
So you just need to make a small hole for cable through

I may sell it, I have so many keyboard projects as is haha. I can't guarantee anything because I do want a good 1800 board but if I need the cash to complete other projects I may just have to sell it.

Dolch definitely seems like a better option. I've been seeing a lot of them pop up lately, hopefully I don't have to buy the whole combo and just the board instead if I can find one in good conditions. :thumb:

If you decide to build one (which you should), I have a beige 1800 case I'd be happy to send you (it will fit, either routing the cable or just drilling a hole in the center).
