Looking for opinions on longer term reliability. I currently drive an 03 Buick Park Avenue, but want a little more room but am not willing to step up to a truck, SUV, van, minivan, or typical crossovers. I just need room for the car seats, one buckles in, the other is just a booster, with my pair of 4 drawer Craftsman toolboxes, two wheel dolly, fall protection harness and I routinely drive an hour each way for work. A 5 day work week is close to 600 miles, so I am leaning toward the 3.5 V6 engine. I also typically drive cars to the 200,000 mile mark or beyond. I drove my last Buick to 225k, and my current one has 172k. I understand I will lose a bit of mileage, but I can deal with that.
I do a fair bit of my own work on cars, so long as I can troubleshoot the correct part.
Mostly wondering about long term common issues, general ride quality, creature comforts, and winter snow and ice capabilities. I am aware of the common leaking transmission, but the majority of reporst I have read on this, it is fixed for good around the 30k to 50k mark.
Thought, comments, suggestions?
