I was looking for Cherry keyboards when I stumbled across this. I think it is a very stupid idea to have a wooden keyboard, and at $1000 apiece, I think I may not be the only one.

These have been posted several times. While I agree that these are quite expensive, I think the ebony ones are pretty nice. I think a wooden keyboard would be great to have in a nice home office with a big, wooden desk.

That I could agree with, so someday when I am an important executive for some big company, I'll have a nice wooden desk with a $1000 wooden keyboard. For now, I can live with the standard run-of-the-mill keyboards, made of plastic.

Don't get me wrong, though, I would never pay $1000 for one, especially with the "L"-shaped Enter key. I would imagine the seller doesn't move many of these, and they are made on-order. If someone made these around the $200 price point with Cherry browns and a normal Enter key (or not, it doesn't bother me that much), I would be all over it.

That Swedx keyboard almost looks like a wooden Dell AT101W. :smile:

You know, for 1k (1.5k for the Ebony) they really should be using pieces of wood with a bit more figure and character as a starting point.

Of the samples they show, only the Ebony (and MAYBE the Rosewood) is approaching a really good board of wood, much less exceptional. The rest are decent enough to look at, but a bit on the plain side, and nowhere near what you can get in their respective species. Some pieces of wood out there would blow your socks off.

It also looks like you could drop in the internals of a Cherry G80-3000 with no problem.

I would prefer to get a keyboard for free, like my crappy Chicony rubber dome, the guy I bought it from gave me a refund since he sent me the wrong keyboard, and never bothered to pay for return shipping. Free keyboard.
