Problem with Winkeyless B.face / Zealio Switch
« on: Wed, 02 March 2016, 10:31:35 »
Hello there,
I have a problem with my Winkeyless B.face, snatched up with some 67gr Zealios R1.

The problem is located on the key "8". I just have to touch it veeeeeeeeeery lightly to actuate the switch. It's really strange because no other switch / key is affected.

At first I thought it is just the switch due to the known Zealio chattering problem . So I soldered a new one in - same problem.

It is possible that something isn't right with the PCB? I really don't know what to do...

Regards
Marc

I've only soldered one board of Zealios and experienced this - the few places that had a chattering switch as you describe still had it with the first, second and a couple even the third replacement - I'm never soldering them on a board where I can't remove the switch tops again as it really wasn't fun.  Eventually I got them all working and they are lovely to type on but I still traded most of mine away, and the board I did was not mine :(

Does your plate allow opening the switches?  If so the mod in the Zealio thread should fix it, if not I can only suggest you try again.

Thanks for your input!
The Winkeyless top plate doesn't allow to open a switch, you have to desolder everything.

As you had the same problem, I think it's the Zealio-Switch and not the PCB itself.

Me thinks I have to rebuild the Winkeyless....  :-[
