Why no context menu keys??
« on: Fri, 18 March 2016, 10:31:13 »
Why do some manufacturers use a second windows key and leave off the context menu key?  That is a deal breaker for me as I am constantly using the context menu key in Excel.  I have had a number of Ducky keyboards and I just couldn't get over the lack of a context menu key so I am planning on selling them all in the very near future.  Why would you ever need a second windows key?  It just seems crazy to me.

I finally found a board I love in the FC900 that meets all of my criteria (full size, non-backlit, context menu key, navy pbt, windowed caps, scrlk, num keys), except the switches.  So I am planning on swapping the switches on my FC900s with 65 G purple Zealios and 67 G purple Zealios to see which I like best.

I also have a Ducky Taiwan Edition 45 G uniform Realforce coming today that does have the context menu key, so maybe I will end up becoming a Topre fanboy, who knows?  I've never used Topre before..

Topre is life.

But, you know you can remap keys and if you really wanted to you could buy different controllers for the boards.

You could also probably buy a phantom PCB and a nice Aluminum case form mechanicalkeybords.com then make your dream board.

All customizable to your liking.

The FC900 series are awesome. My plan was to swap out the stock reds with clears but instead I just kept using it and am now used to it.

I missed the fullsize part. Ignore me.

I am sure you could still probably get another controller but the lack of custom full sizes is sad =(

60% and TKL seem to be the go to for everyone.

Luckily Topre has same amazing cheap full size boards.

I think you would enjoy the Type Heaven or the new Ducky version.

the problem with remapping keys is that my work pc is locked down and I cant use sharpkeys or the like.  and on a normal ducky the Fn key is where the Contect Menu key should be, and you can't remap a Fn key.

I have the ducky topre 45g coming today, so maybe I will like that one.   if not, the fc900 with browns is great, and when I mod it with 65 or 67 zealios I am thinking it will be even better!
