I want a new mouse (its been 3 keyboards since my last mouse).
Its not that I broke one recently, I just feel like a new toy
.
(Good thing I don't have a wife, or she'd point out I just used 2/3's of last months pay to buy skiing equipment
).
My Criteria:
- Must be very sensitive and accurate
- Has at least 3 buttons (this can be the scroll wheel if it can act like a button as well)
- Should have some method of vertical scrolling (e.g. scroll wheel), doesn't have to have horizontal scrolling
- Not small (I have a VX Nano, which is awesome, but I only need one small mouse), I think my Logitech G7 is a tad small for my hands.
- Must last at least 4 years (longer the better)
- Should be ambidextrous, unless using the right-handed mouse requires a condom (I'm right-handed but usually use a mouse with my left hand)
- USB is preferable but not a requirement
Current Rodent Infestation:
- Logitech G7
- Logitech VX Nano
- Logitech MX Air (cause its cool and gimmicky)
- Microsoft Intellimouse (1.1A,2)
As per the topic title I'm leaning towards a trackball.
My price range is flexible, as long as its awesomeness factor is high enough.
So far I think the Kensington Expert and CH DT225 look like possibilities.
Probably one important thing to mention, I live in Japan, but will be moving back to Canada in July, so if its coming from the US I'll probably just wait.
On the other hand, I can just head over to Akihabara (its about 2 hours by train). So that may open up some other options for me.
It'll also give me an excuse to go find some Topres to try out while I'm there.
There are lots of used goods stores in Akihabara, so out of production rodents are a possibility as well.
