Hey y'all!

Keyboard enthusiast from TX. Currently I have a Corsair K95 (reds) and I just ordered an 87 Key Code Keyboard (browns). I would love to swap out the switches on my K95 as a fun project.

Nice couple of keyboards, especially the CODE (I have one with clears).

Swapping switches is relatively easy, if you have a decent soldering iron and lots and lots of patience.  After the first few switches it becomes very routine.

Any idea what switches you'd swap for?

Im still trying to decide on that. It is a wonderful gaming keyboard. But I do wan't something a little quieter and tactile. Clears are a great option but I am still trying to make up my mind.

You won't be able to do much about making non-clicky switches quieter, unless you install O-rings under the keycaps so soften the downstroke.  Unfortunately it also reduces the travel distance, but perhaps that won't bother you as much.

I don't think it will, only because it will be used for gaming primarily. I'm back and forth about it, of course, and may decide to go to a loud blue or green depending on the feel of the switch.

I should probably get a switch plate to try out.

A switch tester will only give you so much impression of what the switch is like.

You really can't beat typing on a keyboard with each switch.
