Intro thread

Ayo!

I'm PK, a college student from NJ, and I've been lurking GH for a while now. I'm mostly here for the marketplace aspect, but recently I've been designing a custom board (which I am creatively dubbing the PK87)!
I currently own 3 boards: a Poker II, Ducky G2 Pro, and a Novatouch as my daily driver. I was at the r/MK Philadelphia meetup earlier this year and it was dope.

So yeah, there's an intro post.

Welcome to GH! Fine boards you got there!

Do you have special interests? Like vintage or caps or modding. Switches you like or dislike?

Welcome! ;D

Have you found your switch preference yet? How do you like your Novatouch?

Stiff tactile switches are my bread and butter. Clears are definitely my favorite, and I have 62g Zealios waiting to be installed. The Novatouch is solid, but I learned that Topre isn't my holy grail.

My favorite part about the keyboard community is seeing the customs that people make; there's nothing quite like when all the parts compliment each other. When I saw the Royal Alpha caps I knew I wanted to design a board around them, which should hopefully be done in a couple months  :D

Welcome to Geekhack!

Joined January 2015 - that's a pretty long time before an intro post :p
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
