Hi, ergonomic keyboard enthusiast here
« on: Tue, 29 March 2016, 03:56:30 »
Hi, people!
Ergonomic keyboards enthusiast here.
Joining because of the fact that in a couple of days I shall buy my first mechanic keyboard - and not just any one out there, but the ergodox. My dream keyboard would be an ergodox with matias quiet clicks, appropriately shaped and with double shot keycaps - but I understand that you can't have just everything you wish from the life :D
Probably will test the keyboardio model01 - if my modest income will allow me to do so...
That's all - hoping to escalate the ladder soon enough to partecipate in the group buys, - I've seen that you guys have done a lot of the interesting ones, in the past...

Welcome to Geekhack!

Although not specifically aimed at Ergo Doxen, have you seen the ergonimocs section?

There are quite a few Ergo Dox fans here, and some of their keyboards are absolutely fantastic!

Have a look here to whet your appetite ...
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Welcome!

I very recently started getting into ergonomic keyboards. I had a Kinesis Advantage for a little while and it was pretty neat. It made me realize how horrible my typing style is  :))

I plan to build my own Ergodox at some point with vintage MX blues (have the kit, just need a case and switches).
