Ducky One Grey White PBT Dye-Sub keycaps
« on: Thu, 24 March 2016, 09:37:34 »
Hello all,

This is my first post here. I've just received a mail from Ducky reading the following:

We are going to launch Ducky One with Grey/White PBT dye-sub keyboard next
month. But we do not have plan to release keycaps set now.

But you might can contact mechanicalkeyboards.com if they have interesting
to order only keycaps set. They will contact our sales manger to discuss
    this project.

What do you think, can a community that expresses avid interest in this set influence the decision and the resulting availability of the set?

Best regards,
Ignat from Russia

As usual, I've done smth dumb. The manager at mechanicalkeyboards.com replied a coiuple hours ago that they have already placed an order on the caps but there is no ETA.

Guess I need to delete the thread?

No need. If someone does a search for similar information they can find an answer now, too. :)

Welcome to Geekhack!

Thank you for updating us on the progress - mechanicalkeyboards.com is well known here, and very well regarded :)

It's actually not that surprising that they are ordering some of these sets as they seem to have almost everything else in stock!

They also have a vendor forum here, and a couple of very active representatives :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
