Weird question - One keycap for two keys
« on: Sun, 10 April 2016, 12:07:45 »
Hi!

This is going to be a weird question. Did you see anything like a 2 keys wide keycap, so you can put it on 2 keys and therefore use it to activate both keys at the same time by pressing down only one keycap?

If there is no such thing, do you know if there is any company that could make a thing like that?

These exist for some POS boards I believe.

You could probably harvest them from said boards. Alternatively, SP might have stock in something of that ilk.

Maybe someone has some from a crap bag that they could give you?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
