IBM Model M identification ?
« on: Sun, 24 April 2016, 15:31:53 »
So i am looking at a model M on Craigslist for cheap money but the woman who owns it does not own a keycap puller and has NO idea what i am talking about...All she was able to provide was the following.

Part # 1370477
Fru # 60G0814
DateL 7/21/95

Anyway to tell this is a real model M or not going from the above info?  I know there are a few RubberDome Model M's out there in existence.

Buckling spring, one part stem+key cap, SDL cable, drain channels. See the Model M Wiki on Wikipedia.

Rubber dome Ms have part numbers beginning with "7"

Model Ms are not capacitive.
But I do not believe that the electrical switching method, in and of itself, necessarily has anything to do with feel.
Model Ms are simply deeply cheaped-down Model Fs, with 3 sheets of mylar with printed traces instead of a PCB at their core.
