Clash of TKL: Ducky One TKL VS Varmilo VA87M
« on: Tue, 03 May 2016, 12:01:40 »
Greetings guys! Last week I received my Leopold FC750R, and I really enjoyed typing/gaming on it. The Leo is now my favorite mechanical keyboard. :)
And then I saw MechanicalKeyboards.com stocking up on Varmilo VA87M, together with the Ducky One TKL (non-backlit) that arrived yesterday.

Looking at the two, the most obvious difference is the price: The VA87M is $124 while the One is $89.
Both manufacturers are known for their emphasis on build quality (with Varmilo rising in popularity, and Ducky is a veteran when it comes to mechanical keyboards).

For my mechanical keyboards, I like them with no LEDs and detachable cable, although I do not mind the Varmilo's white backlight.
I also love heavyweight mechanical keyboards, so in that regard both VA87M and One fits the bill (Ducky One weighs about 3.00 pounds).

In the end, I am unable to make a clear choice here. The Ducky One (non-backlit) TKL looks like a solid choice, with great build quality and good weight.
The Varmilo VA87M on the other hand, is a community favorite, with its heavy weight and similarly awesome build quality.
Which one should I for and why?

Ducky One has noisy stabilizers (do you like rattling?) and resonance issues vs the Varmilo.

Also, Ducky One uses micro USB, so you can't use the same cable for it and the Leopold and Varmilo.
