I have a Realforce 87U 45g and a Type Heaven, both of which have been fitted with hypersphere rings. The sound and consistency of the Realforce is great, but I'm having consistency issues with the Type Heaven. Some of the switches sound fine, and when fitted with a Realforce PBT cap, are comparable to the RF. Others however, feel a bit unstable, and make a plasticky click on both the downstroke and upstroke, which also seems to have some tactile feel to it as well (not in a good way).
The only difference I can find between the good keys and the bad keys, is that the switch housing of the bad keys has a slight amount of play, and when it is moved around by the slider, clicks against the plate.
I see that the switch housings are just snapped in, and the cutouts in the plate might not all be exactly the right size, so I'm considering fixing the housings to the plate with some kind of epoxy.
Has anyone dealt with this before in a Topre board?
