Keycool 71 LEDs go crazy
« on: Fri, 26 August 2016, 17:30:30 »
I have two keyboards this has happened with now. It seems that the wrong colors get mapped to the wrong keys. I tried resetting it and did not help. It is such random keys too.

On one keyboard (blues) everything is fine except the escape key and 1-7 keys.

On the other the problem is on two of the arrow keys and a couple of the letter keys.

Can anyone help or tell me what to look for? Ordered from Ali Express and not in a hurry to send both back for weeks of shipping back and forth to china and replacement especially if there's a huge batch of defectives!

The keyboard is the KC71 with the blue stems and black body. It's a beautiful keyboard if I can get it to work. I bought a brown stem one from another vendor for my work keyboard and it seems to be working fine. What would cause this weird behavior? Pictures available if it will help!

To clarify its like some colors are stuck on, some off. The keyboard has individually programmable keys. When I cycle through the colors, some keys have the red colors disabled, some have the green colors disabled...so the reds cycle through purple, blue and red while the others cycle through cyan, blue and green and yellow.

This seems to happen within a day of getting the keyboard. Not sure if this is the controller, the wiring etc? Any pointers would be appreciated. If anyone thinks they could diagnose and fix this I could probably make it worthwhile :D
