Hello, From Philly!
« on: Sat, 27 August 2016, 08:32:21 »
Hey all! It's good to be here, I only recently discovered the devoted community and look forward to meeting some new friends and maybe even building my own keyboard.

I've been using a mechanical keyboard for a little while now, I use a Razer Blackwidow 2013 w/ MX blues. I'll be traveling a lot soon, so I'm eyeing a new keyboard, 65%s look pretty sweet  :)

Cheers!

Welcome to Geekhack!

Any problems with the Razer?

A lot of people have experienced quality issues with the switches (after they change from Cherry to Razer switches), keycaps, case and LEDs.  OTOH there are also members who have used Razer keyboards for years without issues.

What switch would you like to try next?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
