Full Blue Leopold Thick PBT Keyset
« on: Thu, 13 October 2016, 21:59:46 »
Many of you should know widebasket and his store on eBay, consisting of mostly Leopold keyboards and keycaps. I found two sets of Leopold Thick PBT Blue-Grey dye-sub keycaps, this one and this one, that are basically opposites. The former being a keyset with grey letter keys and blue modifiers, and the latter being a keyset with blue letter keys and grey modifiers. I would really like to get a fully grey set of keycaps, so what I'm proposing is, if there is anyone interested in a fully blue set of Leopold Thick PBT dye-sub keycaps, we could buy simultaneously and request that widebasket mix and match the two sets, sending the fully blue set to one of you guys and the fully grey set to me. Hopefully to no additional cost.

Some of you may be wondering why the second link is sold out, well, I contacted widebasket and I asked him about the availability of the keyset with the grey letter keys and the blue modifiers. He said to wait a few days and that he would request for them to be manufactured. So while I am awaiting patiently for them to be back in stock, I decided to ask if anyone is willing to go along with my plan...  ;D

P.S: I just joined GH (as a member, I have lurked around for a while), I'm also quite new to the custom keyboard and aftermarket keycap community. I am open to criticism, suggestions and feedback. Nice to meet all of you.  ;)

I bought the blue letters set with grey modifiers a few days ago, must have missed the other set otherwise I would have bought both to do exactly the same since I would have liked an all grey set too.... (and the tried to sell off the all blue...)

It will go on my Leopold FC660m (navy, top print) since I do not trust longevity of laser etched letters. Looking at the F600M I do not know why the ESC key and the ~ key have different colors and the different color for the backslash looks out of place too.

Another anomaly is missing a 1u Fn key for when someone swaps the Windows / Fn function although that can be managed by having both a windows key. (I intend to swap the Windows / Fn ) Similarly it would be nice to have a separate set for the Ctrl / Capslock swap...

Always room for improvements....

Thanks for the response MJL, I saw someone had purchased the last set of dye-sub blue letter key and grey modifiers and I thought that that was that and there would be no chance of getting a full grey set. (probably you ;)) However, I have evaluated my options and I think I will be purchasing a set of grey letter key and blue modifiers without modification, I have seen a few images of the keycaps installed on a Novatouch (which is what I have) and I've got to say, it looks much better than I expected.

Thanks for the link, I've already seen that posting, but sadly the seller of the full grey set does not ship to Canada...  :(
(They are also much more expensive compared to widebasket's keyset)

How are the dye-sub legends? They seem very sharp in the photos...

Thanks again
