Question to help me at work.......

does anyone know of a desktop set that has a mouse with a charging base? (like the old Logitech MX mice)

Thanks

Not with a decent keyboard, no.  The Logitech Cordless MX 5500 Revolution does, but that keyboard will be hell to type on.  I have a Dinovo Desktop sitting in a drawer which had an alright scissor switch keyboard, but the mouse ergonomics were horrendous, and the signal dropped way too often.  They might have improved that with drivers, but it's not made anymore, anyway.

Not a desktop, but honestly, you're better off that way.  The Razer Mamba can both be plugged in when the battery dies, and also has a dock.

Microsoft has four mice with either docking or plug-in ability, with three desktop combo configurations.  But like Logitech, good luck getting a decent keyboard.

If you need decent range and connection stability, check into Wireless Computing.  They're expensive, they don't have docks, and they may be overkill; but they're encrypted, and have killer radios.  I don't know if the keyboards are any good, but at those prices I'd expect them to at least be made to last, if not for typing pleasure.

The new Mad Catz series will have a rechargable version, but it doesn't include a keyboard.  That, and it's going to be pricy.
