« on: Tue, 22 November 2016, 07:44:17 »
Hey guys,

I'm wondering if the lenovo trackpoint keyborad is working on Linux. Can someone here confirm that please?

Can someone please check both vertical and horizontal scrolling, trackpoint movement and the F1..F2.. keys

Can't speak for that specific keyboard, but Thinkpads are among the most supported laptops in Linux.  I've never seen a trackpoint not work.

I have an IBM Model M13 from the 90s with a trackpoint and mouse buttons that works just fine, no fuss. It is currently connected to a CentOS 7.2 box.

All to say, you should be fine with that keyboard.

I don't have this model. But I guess as it has a USB connection, it should work out of the box. Not so complicated.

Can't say about those wireless or BT models - all hardware needs to have support from the host Linux distro, and wireless and BT components are relatively new and may not yet have support.

Have you tried Google? Because I have and the results range from a spectacular review to bug reports.

FWIW some (external) thinkpad keyboards had problems with trackpoint firmware, that were ad-hoc corrected only in drivers for MS Windows, but I haven't heard of anything like that about the latest (i.e., chiclet) generation.

There are so different results on google and most of them are from a few years ago. Just hoped that someone have that keyboard and can give me up to date feedback.
