Hello, I may have a problem
« on: Sun, 29 January 2017, 16:31:01 »
I've just started down this rabbit hole for a little over a month and I've found money leaving my wallet at a surprising rate.  I've lurked for a month or so on the forums and finally decided I might as well sign up.  So here we are.

In that month, I've kind of gone 0-99 pretty quickly.

My first keyboard was a Corsair Strafe from my wife for Christmas.  Cherry Red switches and is what got me down this rabbit whole to begin with.  This was to replace my nearly 10 year old keyboard I use for my primary desktop/for gaming.  Over the holiday break, I made the unfortunate discovery of this forum and others and found myself ordering an Anne Pro with Gat Browns.  My plan was to use this connected to my work laptop while working at home.  I followed that up with getting a DSA Quartz set to go with it.  I also ran across a Whitefox with Cherry Clears which I also promptly purchased along with a Jelly Key Trass and Lava to go with it.  The whitefox now follows me to work every day to make everyone in the office jealous.

And now, just as quickly as I got a new primary desktop keyboard, the Corsair is replaced with a Red Scarf 96 with vintage cherry blacks and GMK red alert.  I thought I was a tactile guy, but these vintage blacks along with the GMK set has me pondering my existence.

I've also fallen prey to the pay now and wait several months problem.  I decided to start with a Sentraq S60-X kit to get my building game together and managed to get some R4.5 67g zealios that get to wait until it arrives.

I'm just not sure where all my money has gone after all that.  :thumb:

Holy ****, slow down! Lol!

I'm took my approach into this hobby really slowly, doing research on what keysets/boards I wanted. You though...whirlwind of keyboards haha. I really like your collection. I think redscarf 96 might be my next board. How are you getting used to using different layouts all the time?

Research was indeed done (much browsing and lurking here) by me as well.  The idea was to get the Anne pro and then work my way up from there.  I had looked around for a lot of different configurations and saw all of these boards, all of them being GBs and whatnot that had ended earlier.  So when I had the good fortune to actually see them pop up for sale, it was easy to pull the trigger.  As for getting used to them, that has been fairly easy from a typing standpoint.  Only the whitefox's truefox layout with the backspace above enter key throws me for a loop when I first start on it for the day.  It generally takes me a few minutes to get back in the groove of what the layout is.  My major issue so far is, since these are all a bit different keyboard configurations, remembering all the different function layers.  I have them all setup a little different, and that is the major pain to remember.

So far, I'm really digging the redscarf.  The only thing I'd probably change is the bottom row configuration.  1.5,1,1.5,7,1.5,1,1.5 isn't that odd, but I've seen a few sets that are missing one thing or another.  I'll eventually work up the nerve to actually make some changes config, but for now, it is great just the way it is.
