I wanted to hear your thoughts about my idea.
I live in a small country in South East Asia which is the Philippines, the mechanical keyboard scene here is really new and there are too many people asking about custom keyboards and whatnot. So instead of replying to every single one, i plan on having a mechanical keyboard contest which will invite all locals.
Mechanics:
1. We, the organizers, will sell a keyboard (a basic TKL keyboard "Sumrt" from taobao) for $30 each. These come with outemu switches. The Keyboard will serve as the registration fee and the money we get in sales will be used to purchase the prizes for this contest ofcourse.
2. Any Mod to the keyboard is acceptable as long as it serves a purpose to the user or to the aesthetics of the keyboard concept itself
3. Expensive parts i.e. Custom keycaps, Artisans, Switches will not be taken into account when scoring unless you customize a keyset, make your own artisans or mod specific switches to your liking.
4. Each participant is require to have a detail buildlog uploaded to imgur which explains each aspect of the build (this will serve as an info graphic for our local group)
4. Have fun and mod the hell out of this cheapo keyboard.
Criteria for judging:
Aesthetics/Theme
Usability of modded features
popular design/concept(voting will be done in our local group)
overall cost
so im asking you guys to give me the percentages i should have for the criteria or you may and a criteria which you think might be good for this contest
