Alternative methods when damage caused during soldering.

I too have pulled up a few pads when dosoldering stubborn led's or switches.  Fortunately I have always been able to force a connection at the same through hole on the same PCB.

I have heard others talk of hard wiring the switch contacts to adjescent keys.  Please for those quick to chastise "just google that ****,"  I have been finding very little.  I have  a few projects (I'm bored with having my ideal board having "arrived" I have a few which I'd like to modify and and am looking to acquire a new board or two.  Perhaps someboy can direct me in the direction of the answers I seek.  Sounds like this may be the desirable method.

I don't know if any keyboard enthusiast is happy completing his mission for the best board  He will always find reasons to find a new one.

The easiest way is to just scrape off some mask from the nearest trace, dab a bit of flux onto the exposed copper, and then solder a jumper from the pin to the trace.

And the phenomenon of lusting over something and then becoming normalized to it after you own it is very strong in this hobby, and with most things really. Don't get me wrong, I love my collection, but when you're pining over the forbidden fruit, sometimes being just out of reach of what you want is more exhilarating than actually having it, haha.
