Product description:
Locally sourced Koa wood wrist rest finely crafted by local Hawaiian carpenters
Ergonomic fleeting curve design
Available in:
60% 12 in. x 3 in. x 0.5 in. (30.5 cm x 7.62 cm x 1.27 cm)
75% 14.5 in. x 3 in. x 0.5 in. (36.8 cm x 7.62 cm x 1.27 cm)
100% 18 in. x 3 in. x 0.5 in. (45.7 cm x 7.62 cm x 1.27 cm)

Let me know if you're interested! We'd like to do a group buy if there's enough interest.

More Info:
-Hawaiian Koa is an ultra rare wood. Hard to find, and thus very expensive.
-Pricing will likely be in the $80-100 range depending on size. $60 for the 60% size
-Options for Hawaiian designs to be burned or etched into the wood
-For more $ we could also use "Curly Koa" where grain looks wavy and ripply. Google Image that.
-We've tried felt and foam for the bottom side. I love the slidey-ness of felt bc of the way I move things around my desk during the work day but most will probably want foam/rubber or standard feet bump-ons.

UPDATE 1/22/2017:
158283-6

Recently I built a minivan and a Red Scarf II ver. c

The wrist rest is perfect height for the RS2 and feels great. A co-worker and I have been using them for months at work now. I think our next plan for the rests is to make a site if anyone wants to buy using swipe or another alternative.

Let me know if anyone is interested and we'll make it happen.

UPDATE 4/13/2017:

We have received enough confirmed interest that we are going to do a limited run of the 60% size for just $60 + shipping!
Before we move to group buy I'm hoping for a few more people to tell us that they are interested, and from there we will figure out a timeline.
We are setting up Wave for payment processing.

I like the idea, but from an account with 1 post, I'm not so sure I'd be willing to shell out that kind of cash.

Yep totally understandable, my Exquisite Elder. Hopefully by the time this were to get serious I'll have posted tons more. I've been lurking for a few months now, but some of my other co-workers have been active here for a while now. I recently signed up for the minivan, and red scarf 2 ver c.
Part of the inspiration for doing this came from seeing the variety of woods offered by NPKC/Royal Kludge/thevankeyboards and thinking that something more beautiful could be made.

We were also thinking of experimenting w/ cheaper woods like Monkeypod (common in Hawaii) but less majestic. Could probably sell that for around $40 to 50 with the same shape.

A future idea we had is a wooden surfboard shaped wrist rest made from alternating pieces of wood joined together with a flat bottom.

I have a koa wood inlaid bracelet that is beautiful.  That wood is amazing, so I can understand the price.  I'm interested!

I'm running a GB right now and I found that posting on here, /r/mechanicalkeyboards, and DeskThority is the best way to drum up interest.  I think these are beautiful and would love to see this go through.
