I don't really know much about eBid, but from what I see on Google it sounds legit. Keyboard appears to be in good condition according to seller: https://www.ebid.net/us/for-sale/ibm-at-model-f-keyboard-84-key-130420757.htm

Hmmm.... this seems a little strange - From the listing Information: "Start Time   Thu 24 Jul 2014 06:23:54 (EST)."  Does anyone know anything about eBid?

I'd never heard of them either, but Wikipedia's eBid page says:

Quote
eBid is an online auction website founded in December 1998. eBid operates in twenty-three countries where it allows sellers, United Kingdom, United States of America, Canada, Australia, Ireland, Belgium, Austria, Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Netherlands, Denmark, Hong Kong, India, Norway, New Zealand, Portugal, Sweden, Singapore, South Africa, Brazil, Malaysia and lists to buyers in over 100 Countries.

eBid uses its own online payment service PPPay to allow for buyers and sellers to pay each other in Euros and Pounds Sterling, although members are not restricted to using this form of payment: Paypal and Skrill (Moneybookers) are also integrated payment methods. Sellers and buyers can use any payment method by mutual agreement but this would not be integrated.

Listing a basic auction on eBid is free and a zero or small percentage final value fee is paid on selling an item.

The domain ebid.net has 8 million page impressions a month and attracts around 60,000 visitors a day (15m unique visitors yearly) alexa.com ranking.

The experience seemed pretty easy - it's a weird site, though.  Unlike ebay, you have to "subscribe" (read: pay) to the site in order to sell anything.  I didn't really look into it because registering as a "buyer" was free, but I think it's an annual fee?  I suppose it's how the site makes money, as opposed to ebay that charges a percentage of sale price.  I couldn't find a way to contact the seller through the site after purchasing, but it did give me his email information so I was able to just send him an email directly.  He responded really quickly and even shipped the same day and provided me a tracking number - seems like a cool dude.

I am interested to find out the true condition of the board though.  I asked if he would sell me the board for a lower price, and he responded by essentially meeting me halfway with my offer, but then he went on to say "I sell these boards for over $100 on ebay," which was strange to me, because...why wouldn't he just do that then?  Slightly skeptical about condition, but I'll update you guys when it arrives!

Congrats, / / (or should we call you "Slash"?). The board looks like it's in great shape, with no obvious signs of use. (I can even overlook my pet peeve of people who don't bother unwrapping the cables from around boards they're selling.)

One thing I don't get—the listing says:

Close : Wed 08 Mar 2017 16:09:13 (EDT)

Does this mean the seller listed this back in 2014?? I did find this 2015 reference to it, using Google Image Search on the photo. Could it have really sat online for over 2 years before you bought it?

Not that it matters, necessarily, as long as you get what you expect. Keep us posted, OK?
