It sure has been bid up from when I first saw that listing, wow!

I really wish I could use sphericals like that on my Model Fs and Ms.  Maybe one day it will happen.  This thread was recently revived, so there is some hope:

Gorgeous keys, but are they really worth over $250?  Not to be ungrateful for the post or anything, but it's very unlikely the board you'd be using them on would be worth that much. Wouldn't most people find that a bit too ironic? (I am right now, and all I'm doing is thinking about it.)

Also, does it make much esthetic sense to put such authentic '70s-style keys on a modern, compact MK? Wouldn't that be like putting a rumble seat on a Ferrari?

I guess some people wouldn't care. Personally, though, if I did something like that, it'd be purely to say, "Ha ha, look, a modern MK with old-fashioned keys on it, isn't that funny." But it'd be a pretty expensive joke, considering I could've bought, say, a Realforce instead, or two Model M SSKs. I'm just saying.

SA Penumbra kits were selling for $600 before round 2 was announced.  The market obviously came back to earth after that.  I suspect this set will sell for too much.

I suppose something's worth whatever someone's willing to pay for it. You can't help wondering how much hysteria's involved in someone's decision to buy, though. If the current price isn't hysteria-based, certainly the original one was!

You haven't been here very long, have you? If you had, you'd realize we're here to discuss keyboards—which, more often than not, we do in great detail, keyboards being very detailed things.

Disk space may have been "precious" back in the '90s, but it hardly is now. Even at consumer prices, for less than $100 you can buy a 3-terabyte drive that holds about 3 million 1K messages like this one. If my math's right, that comes out to around $0.0001 each.

So loosen up, okay? If you see posts that don't interest you, don't bother reading 'em—they're optional.

And BTW, before you post something, you may want to check it for typos, and learn about run-on sentences.  ;?)

I was about to comment on how it sold for $300+, but looks like the seller relisted it? I guess whoever won changed their mind?...

Oops—we just spent another $0.0003 of someone's hard-earned dough, didn't we? We really must stop all this posting stuff... I mean, it's not as though this were some kind of online forum.
