Ducky 9008 replacement
« on: Wed, 30 August 2017, 18:29:44 »
Looking to replace my 9008 after many years.

Pros
-108 keys - 4 Application keys see a lot of use, I've switched them out in the registry for other .exes (Music Player, Notepad etc)
-Swap left alt and win key I find more ergonomic
-Full keyboard works great for both gaming and work
-Media keys, although I prefer the CODE setup with them on the command pad.

Cons
-Media key placement, with the function key so far away from the function keys they require 2 hands, command pad would be better
-Lack of DIP switches for different functions, I'm tired of having to reset the swap functions every time I wake my computer. Newer Duckys have moved away from putting these onto the F9-F11 keys.

I've been looking around for some time and haven't been able to find anything that fits what I am looking for, was hopping that someone here who has more exposure could point me in the right direction.

I use a 9008 at work and love it. Its a really really well made board thats relatively inexpensive. I've filled it with 'Pandas' and hydro gmk caps but I cant imagine why I would want to replace it. I do agree that having a programable board would be nice - macros and editing the media keys on the board instead of the OS would be nice. Have you looked into the possibility of using an in-line TMK chip? something like this? https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=80421.0
