Kalih Bronze help
« on: Wed, 04 October 2017, 16:21:39 »
I was looking on doing a switch swap on the Steelseries APEX M750 which seemed pretty straightforward. Upon trying to get the LED through it appears the switch housing is blocking one pin (last on the right)  from making this happen. Has anybody had any luck trying to get a 4 pin through? Would possibly buying a different LED be a better answer? I am attaching the picture.

A little bit of internet searching shows that Aliexpress is selling "Kailh Speed Switch RGB SMD Switches 20pcs Golden/Silver/Coppery/Bronze MX RGB Swithes For Backlit Mechanical Gaming keyboard" I imagine the housing would be the same for the switch though.

The housings are basically the same, however the Kailh Speed Bronzes use a click bar the generate the click, and the click bar sits in the LED opening. This could be causing your problem.

A smaller LED would probably fit better.

Attaching a photo. When i put the LED in the clickbar is out of the way which we are fortunate with. The opening is really really slim compared to the gold (above) and that is what i am hoping would be different. Finding a smaller led has been difficult as I am not sure what to search for.
