Remapping model M SSKs Ctrl to Hyper/Super
« on: Thu, 22 February 2018, 10:18:53 »
Hey all,

I'm new here, so I'm not 100% certain this is the right part of the forum to ask this. If not, please let me know where I should move this.

I have a model M SSK with Soarer's USB converter cable and would like to do some remapping. I've seen some example configurations, but I'm not sure how I should go about doing this particular thing:

1) I want my Caps Lock to serve as left CTRL
2) I want my left CTRL to serve as HYPER_L or SUPER_L (more or less the windows key on a typical keyboard)

I currently use Xmodmap to do this remapping globally on my i3wm Linux machine (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/xmodmap#Turn_CapsLock_into_Control.2C_and_LeftControl_into_Hyper), but I'd like only this keyboard to behave this way and leave other keyboards working the way they normally would.

I'd appreciate any pointers.

Soarer gave his instructions and documents in his original post. Wcass also described a good method in reply #560

"However, my view has changed in recent days. Trump’s behavior is so bizarre, so unhinged, and so counter to his short-term interests that the most likely explanation for his actions is that Trump either believes or knows that he is mentioned in the Epstein files in ways that are even more damaging than the blowback he is getting for not releasing the files."
