GMK QMX clips on "clicky" switches?
« on: Sun, 10 June 2018, 12:17:11 »
I'm wondering if GMK's QMX clips are compatible with "clicky" switches, more specifically MX Blues? I know that Zealencio specifically says their clips aren't compatible:

"Please note that the Zealencio silencing clips may not be compatible with Cherry clicky switches due to the variance in sprue mark location on the MX Blue & Green stems. Zealencio silencing clips are best used with linear & tactile switches."

But I can't find any info from GMK to indicate otherwise, even all their promotional material shows some images with their clips on Blue switches.

If they are compatible, has anyone tried them on thick, cherry profile PBT keycaps? How much do they reduce travel compared to o-rings?

Most clicky Cherry MX-type switches have a tiny nub on the left edge of the slider that hits the top of the clip and reduces key travel. Clicky switches from Cherry, Kailh, Greetech, Razer (Kailh and Greetech), Outemu, Switch Master, Trantek and Zorro have them.
Gateron's clicky and Aristotle switches are the only ones I have seen that don't have them.
