RIP Harlan Ellison
« on: Fri, 29 June 2018, 09:56:44 »
Harlan Ellison was one of the most influential writers of short fiction and nonfiction of the 20th century, writing in every genre he could and protesting any attempt to pigeonhole his work.

RIP.

Sorry. Everybody always assume it's hack for hacking but it's hack as in writer/author.

Ellison was hardly a hack, and his real talent was as an editor and promoter. He was good at irritating people.

Trump’s behavior is so bizarre, so unhinged, and so counter to his short-term interests that the most likely explanation for his actions is that Trump either believes or knows that he is mentioned in the Epstein files in ways that are even more damaging than the blowback he is getting for not releasing the files."

I'd agree based on the traditional definition of a hack, i.e. a writer that writes purely for money.  He was very passionate (read irritating) about his beliefs, and what he was writing.
